Hon. Colonial Secretary,

We are fairly well protected by our définition

of whisky. I have gone through most of the cheap whiskies sold in the Colony recently, and have obtained one sample that does not come up to the definition. I am attempting to get evidence against the importers of a false trade description, but if this is not successful I will prosecute for adulteration. The difficulty is that it is more important to get the actual importers than the

store that deal in it.
